We visited Pioneertown (1940's old western movie set) and Boulder Garden.
Our first shoot was on a 640 acre property owned by Garth who has lived there in a teepee for the past 30 years! He was previously a homeless man living on the streets of LA. Great guy to talk to and has done some crazy and unique things to his land.
Our second shoot was at Pioneertown. I didn't get many model pix as Joseph was teaching Stuart and I some great flash photography tricks on simulating sunset light.Third shoot was a studio setup with a white backdrop and some terrific lighting equipment. I had Latoya use my Droid to do an "iPhone Killer" shoot. This was my first time doing a model shoot with professional lighting. I love how they turned out! Thanks Latoya for braving the crazy-cold weather and putting up with us all.
Thanks to Joseph and Frederick for putting on an AMAZING weekend. They showed us some fantastic techniques to take our skills to the next level and then some.
Also thanks to Deb and Steve at the Joshua Tree Business Center for being such gracious hosts for our learning workshops, studio shoot and the tasty home-style food the catered us with! http://www.joshuatreebusinesscenter.com
Can't wait for the next one!
